01 · Fintech clients

Financial software teams we work with

Glia, the banking AI and customer engagement platform used by banks and credit unions, is a current client. Past fintech clients include Billomat, invoicing and accounting software from Germany, and Moneyman, an online lender. We also work with B2B SaaS companies and cybersecurity companies. See all the industries we work in.

02 · Definition

What is fintech marketing?

Fintech marketing is the work of finding, reaching and convincing the people who buy financial technology, such as payment, lending, banking and wealth software. In B2B fintech, those buyers sit at banks, credit unions and corporate finance teams. The main channels are search, LinkedIn and AI answers, and the strongest claims are ones a bank's risk and compliance teams can check.

As a fintech marketing agency, COSEOM® plans and runs those channels for B2B fintech companies and reports on the leads your sales team accepts.

03 · The problem

Three things that slow fintech lead generation

Banks review vendors before they take them on, and that shapes how fintech marketing works. These are the three problems we see most often, and what we change.

Deals go quiet once the bank's due diligence starts

US banking agencies expect the banks they supervise to review a vendor's compliance, financial condition and information security before taking it on, in more depth when the risk is higher. We plan content and LinkedIn for the people who join the deal at that stage.

Every new ad waits in the compliance queue

When legal or compliance reviews each ad from scratch, launches slip and tests get delayed. Your reviewers approve every ad line once in a single spreadsheet, and we build new ads from lines they have already approved.

Copy a risk officer wouldn't believe

Generic agency copy promises speed and growth. The people who approve a fintech purchase read for proof: how the product handles data, controls and regulation. We write from your own product material, in the words your buyers use, and your team approves it before it goes live.

04 · Services

Fintech marketing services, channel by channel

Every channel runs from one fintech marketing strategy and one set of approved claims. You can start with one channel and add others based on what the first one shows.

Fintech PPC

Google and Microsoft search ads on the terms buyers use when they compare vendors, such as payment orchestration or loan origination software. Ads use copy your team has approved, and we add negative keywords to filter out consumer searches. See our PPC services and Google Ads management.

LinkedIn Ads for bank and finance buyers

LinkedIn reaches decision makers by role, company and industry. We put approved messages in front of the people who own payments, lending, risk and IT at the banks, credit unions and finance teams you sell to, and send the leads to your CRM. See our LinkedIn Ads work.

Fintech SEO

We plan and write the pages buyers look for before they talk to sales: product categories, integrations, comparisons and security. Your experts review them before they go live. See our SEO services.

AI search visibility

When a buyer asks ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's AI answers for fintech vendors, we check whether your brand is named and cited. Then we fix the pages and sources behind those answers, including the review sites and directories that get cited for your category. See our GEO agency work.

Account-based marketing

For a list of named banks, credit unions or finance teams, we run LinkedIn and display campaigns against those accounts and report engagement and leads for each target account. It's part of our demand generation work.

Fintech content marketing

Guides, glossaries and comparison pages written from your own product material, with your experts signing off before anything is published. See our inbound marketing work.

05 · Compliance and sales cycle

How compliance and the bank sales cycle shape a campaign

Which rules apply to you depends on what kind of firm you are, and your compliance team makes that call. These are the reviews fintech campaigns run into, with a link to each source.

The buying committee

A bank reviews a vendor before it signs. Under the 2023 interagency guidance on third-party relationships, the banks those agencies supervise are expected to review a vendor's legal and regulatory compliance, financial condition and information security, in more depth when the risk is higher. So besides the business owner, we plan messages for the people who check those areas, such as IT and security, and risk and compliance.

The sales cycle

The same guidance describes a life cycle for a bank's third-party relationships: planning, due diligence and selection, contract negotiation, ongoing monitoring and termination. We plan content and retargeting for each stage before the contract, and we judge campaigns on pipeline as well as first leads.

Compliance gates

At a FINRA member firm, an appropriately qualified registered principal approves each retail communication before it is used or filed, whichever comes first (FINRA Rule 2210). Investment advisers registered with the SEC, or required to be, follow the SEC Marketing Rule, with conditions on testimonials and endorsements. Companies that offer consumer financial products or services, and their service providers, must avoid unfair, deceptive or abusive practices (UDAAP). In the UK, financial promotions must be clear, fair and not misleading.

How the campaign plans for them

Before the first ad, we agree with your compliance team who reviews what. Your reviewers then approve or edit every ad line in a single spreadsheet, and a campaign launches only after that approval. We don't give legal advice or approve promotions ourselves.

06 · How we work

How we run a fintech account

Results depend on your market and your sales cycle, so we don't promise a fixed timeline. The order of the work stays the same.

  1. 01

    Claims, tracking and review first

We get access to your ad accounts, analytics and CRM, agree with sales what counts as a qualified lead, and agree with your compliance team who reviews each ad line before launch.

  2. 02

Launch the channels that fit your buyer

We use paid search to reach buyers comparing vendors, LinkedIn to reach the right roles at your target banks and finance teams, and SEO and AI search to answer the questions buyers ask before contacting sales.

  3. 03

Judge on pipeline, then scale or stop

Once there is enough data, we compare cost per qualified lead and pipeline by channel. We scale what works and stop what doesn't.

07 · Proof

Fintech results with Glia, and what clients say

Together with the team at Glia, we brought paid cost per lead down from $251 to $204 while conversions rose, then delivered their strongest LinkedIn lead month to date. We are now building a technical glossary to earn visibility in answer engines and AI search. More examples are in our B2B case studies.

08 · FAQ

Questions fintech teams ask before they hire an agency

What is fintech marketing?

Fintech marketing is the work of finding, reaching and convincing the people who buy financial technology, such as payment, lending, banking and wealth software. In B2B fintech, those buyers sit at banks, credit unions and corporate finance teams. The main channels are search, LinkedIn and AI answers. The strongest claims are ones the risk and compliance teams on both sides, yours and the buyer's, can check.

How do you market a B2B fintech company?

Start with the buyer and the review process, then pick channels. Paid search reaches buyers who are already comparing vendors. LinkedIn reaches the roles at your target banks and finance teams. SEO and AI search cover the questions buyers ask before they talk to sales, and content supports the people who join the deal during due diligence. Your team approves the ads and pages before they go live, and we judge the work on pipeline.

Do you work with fintechs that sell to banks and credit unions?

Yes. Glia, the banking AI and customer engagement platform used by banks and credit unions, is a current client. A bank's vendor due diligence covers compliance and information security as well as fit with the bank's goals, so we plan campaigns and content for the business owner, for IT and security, and for risk and compliance.

How do fintech companies handle compliance review for ads?

It depends on the firm. A FINRA member firm needs an appropriately qualified registered principal to approve each retail communication before it is used or filed. Investment advisers registered with the SEC, or required to be, follow the SEC Marketing Rule. Companies that offer consumer financial products or services, and their service providers, must avoid unfair, deceptive or abusive acts or practices. Your compliance team decides what applies. We agree the review steps with them before the first ad. Your reviewers approve or edit every ad line before launch, and we build new ads from lines already approved.

How long is the sales cycle when selling software to banks?

There's no single figure. It depends on how much due diligence the bank does, and the guidance scales that to the risk. US banking agencies expect the banks they supervise to review a vendor's compliance, financial condition and information security before taking it on, in more depth when the risk is higher. Marketing should plan for every stage: search and LinkedIn to start the conversation, then content and retargeting that support your champion through due diligence and contract negotiation.

Can you get a fintech brand cited in AI answers?

We can't promise a citation. What we do is measure how often ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI answers name and cite your brand for the questions your buyers ask. Then we fix the pages and sources behind those answers, such as the review sites and directories that get cited for your category, and measure again with the same questions. Our free AI Visibility Snapshot is a good first look at where you stand.

How do I choose a fintech marketing agency?

Ask four things. Have they worked with fintech companies, and can they name them? How do they fit your compliance review into the launch plan? Do they report on pipeline and cost per qualified lead, or only on clicks? And can they measure and improve your visibility in AI answers? An agency that answers all four clearly understands how fintech is bought.

How much does fintech marketing cost?

It depends on the scope. The main factors are how many markets you sell in, how many channels each market needs, and how much tracking work has to happen first. We scope it after the strategy call. To plan your own budget first, use our free B2B marketing budget calculator.
